For the record, my first computer was also a VIC-20. I could type before I could write.

Hi Jackalope - thanks for the link and the kind comment.
The VIC was my first as well, if you don't count the occasional TRS-80s that my father brought in from work on occasion. Didn't get to play with them though.
I cut my programming teeth on BASIC; darn if I still don't have occasion to use it now & then - well, VB anyway. I guess some things don't change, they just get more complicated.
