I've been away for two weeks on vacation in Florida. I suppose I should've said something before I left, but since a large minority of my regular readers were on the vacation with me, I doubt too many of you were left confused.
I could say a lot about the trip, but I don't see why I should. Florida is an extraordinarily flat place. In fact, the two highest points of land I saw the entire time were both landfills. I cannot divine exactly what the appeal of Florida is to anyone besides astronauts and alligators. Reader, if you need to move from wherever you are to some place sunny and warm, you can do better than Florida. Heck, New Mexico would be better than Florida.

This week I'll also be heading to the great state of Florida, although only for a few days. I do hope to see some astronauts while I am there, as the only one I have seen is the cardboard cutout at Meteor Crater. I'll pass on the gators.

I missed you - I clicked in and the page was blank. Just figured you were turning in to every other man I've gotten attached to.....
;-)
I actually lived in Tampa for a year, and that is when I discovered the appeal of the beach. I had been in CA and HI and never quite got it, but the gulf coast beaches were spectacular, warm and clean. And I do so miss the food - there is no decent Cuban food here, and the Cajun food was so plentiful there.
I am thinking of going for a visit in February...maybe?
